Folktale The Lion For Real Orange Wine is an artisanal, skin-fermented white blend crafted through a multi-vintage solera process that began in. This natural wine combines Chardonnay, Riesling, Grenache Blanc, and Viognier, fermented on their skins and aged in neutral French oak to develop complexity and texture. Aromas of mandarin orange blossom, honeysuckle, and ruby red grapefruit unfold into notes of apricot, canned peach, graham cracker, and white tea, finishing with a rustic touch of hay and floral nuance. Unfiltered and unadulterated, it's a vivid reflection of Folktale's experimental winemaking artistry.

Wine Tasting Notes
Grapes for this unique blend come from a variety of white wine varieties across four different vintages. Starting in 2017, Chardonnay and Riesling grapes were fermented on their skins in small batches, and aged in neutral French oak. In 2018, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc grapes were used, and blended with the 2017 vintage in the summer of 2019, creating our first release of The Lion for Real, 2 year solera. At that time, we decided to bottle half of the wine we made and keep half to be blended into the next vintage - allowing us to continue the Solera. Since then, we have introduced Viognier grapes and continued the unique project, now a 4 year blend, and containing a part of every vintage of this special and unique wine. Un-fined, unfiltered, and unadulterated. Natural in every sense of the definition. Bottled July, 2022.
