This ancient tradition dates back to the Portuguese monks of the XVII century in which sour cherries, also known as 'morello cherries' were infused in alcohol and lightly sweetened. The result is a sweet and luxurious liqueur with an intense sour cherry aroma and a slight hint of cinnamon. Ginja Mariquinhas, is one of the finest sour cherry liqueurs because of it's infusing process which takes twelve months, and in addition contains no added artificial coloring or preservatives and is a 100% natural.
